Edenhall - a large self-build project

Edenhall is a large period property on the eastern edge of Bath.

Having bought it in a very poor state of repair, the new owners were keen to create independent, yet interlinked living units for three generations of the same family to live together. They also wanted flexibility in the internal spaces to ‘future-proof’ the house for the family’s changing needs over years to come.

The main house was completely renovated to return it to its former grandeur. The dilapidated stable block was almost completely rebuilt to offer ancillary accommodation. The materials from the demolition works were retained and reused in the new buildings.

A new green oak frame extension was built to link the old house to the rebuilt outbuildings. This soul nourishing space is now the beating heart of the house.

This unusual property has been brought back to life, creating a unique and vibrant home that answers the needs of the whole family.
